Teachers Corner: Parents please ensure that you and your scholar are checking and completing assignments on their agenda every night including weekends. We have started assigning real infractions, remind scholars that once 3 of the same kind of infractions have been accumulated they will miss their house meeting on Friday. We will also continue to work with your scholar on rules, procedures, expectations, transitions, and opening their locker. 

Math: Scholars will multiply factors with decimals. They will also multiply fractions by fractions.

Science: Scholars will now compare and contrast physical and chemical changes in matter, following with concentrated vocabulary practice and reviewing their study guides (due Thursday, 9/26)

History: Scholars will continue learning about the Age of Exploration looking at the journeys of Columbus and Sir Francis Drake.

Literature: Scholars will finish VODT this week. Our next book will be The Secret Garden please have by 10/3

Math: Students will learn how to estimate products with whole numbers and decimals.

Science:  Scholars will wrap up their Astronomy unit with a test on Tuesday 9/10, then they will begin to investigate the properties of matter.

History: This week the scholars will be finishing their unit on the Maya, Inca, and Aztec civilizations by reviewing their study guides on Tuesday and taking the unit test on Wednesday. On Thursday, the scholars will be reviewing the U.S. Constitution before heading into their next unit. 

Literature: This week the scholars will continue their reading in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C. S. Lewis. Specifically, the scholars will be reading through chapters 7-10 and will continue adding new vocabulary terms to their Literature section in their common-place notebooks. These entries in the scholars' notebooks are checked at the end of each week for a grade.
