This week we will have a quiz on Friday 11/22 Science: Scholars will continue their unit on Energy and begin learning about light on Thursday, 11/14. They will receive their Unit Study Guide/Review on 11/13. It is due 11/20 in preparation for the test on 11/21. History: This week the scholars will be learning about Ignatius of Loyola and about the Catholic counter reformation. Teachers Corner: We have continued to notice instances where scholars are bringing, sharing, and chewing gum in class and on school premises. This behavior is disruptive and goes against the established rules of our school (Family Handbook p. 112). Chewing gum not only creates a distraction in the classroom but also poses a potential safety and hygiene concern. In order to maintain a conducive learning environment and uphold the standards within our school community, we must enforce stricter measures regarding this matter. Beginning Monday, October 7th any scholar found chewing gum or sharing gum with others will earn a lunch detention. We kindly request your support in reinforcing the importance of adhering to school rules and expectations, including those regarding the consumption of gum. By working together, we can ensure that our scholars understand the significance of following these guidelines and contribute to a positive and respectful atmosphere at school. Thank you fo

Science: Scholars will now compare and contrast physical and chemical changes in matter, following with concentrated vocabulary practice and reviewing their study guides (due Thursday, 9/26) History: Scholars will continue learning about the Age of Exploration looking at the journeys of Columbus and Sir Francis Drake. Math: Students will learn how to estimate decimals and use mental math to add and subtract decimals. Science: S cholars will discover important details about space exploration and other elements of space like galaxies, black holes and comets. History: This week the scholars will continue their unit on the Meso-American tribes (Maya, Inca, and Aztec). In this unit the scholars will explore the differences between these cultures and will focus primarily on the following elements of each culture: Geography, religion, Arts/accomplishments, politics, economy and social structure. Literature: This week scholars will be quizzed on chapters 4 & 5 of VODT, we will also begin characterization.
